A poll was recently taken by Charlotte Magazine asking, “What are the five most momentous events in Charlotte in the past five years?” Here’s a hint . . . . All but one has to do with Uptown Charlotte.
1. The condo boom in uptown Charlotte. (Agents take note!)
2. The LYNX light rail is in business. (Tremendous asset for business commuters!)
3. The Charlotte Bobcats begin playing in their new arena. (Great for all the uptown restaurants and NBA Fans!)
4. Charlotte wins the bid to build the NASCAR Hall of Fame. (Another boost for the uptown area restaurants, hotels, and shops due to the influx of visitors!)
5. The new SouthPark luxury wing opens. (Although, SouthPark is located inside Charlotte, the SouthPark area is big enough to be its own city!)
Although, I live in the Lake Norman area now Charlotte was my home for many years prior. My husband and I have owned real estate in Charlotte for many, many years. The transformation that I have witness is incredible.
I loved Charlotte the first time my parents brought my brother and me here to look for housing. It was my first experience of biscuits and country ham at Mom & Pops Restaurant on South Boulevard.
Coming from a small Ohio town of about 8,000 Charlotte had so much to offer and I am glad to announce Charlotte continues to offer a lot.

Hey Girl! You KNOW I love this post! Besides faith, family, friends, CHARLOTTE ranks next for my passions and I just feel like it's one of my children when I read accolades about it or see good reports on the news or in publications! It's and AWESOME place to live!
I actually have never been to Charlotte but would love to visit one day! It sounds like a thriving, beautiful city! Great job describing five great things that have happened recently in your home away from home!
Teresa.. This is a wonderful blog. Great information about Charlotte, and you putting a personal touch to it too. Great job.
I've only been to Charlotte once.. and that was only at the airport... my loss.
Hi Teresa, Great list, Charlotte does have so much to offer. I thought the Nascar Hall of Fame was certainly a great scoop. God bless, headed to Beech Mtn for a couple hours. It's less than 30 degrees there and supposed to snow tonight.
Debe: Thanks for your comments! Charlotte is a VERY special place with a lot to offer.... great housing, great jobs, great weather (most of the time). One reason my parents moved us to Charlotte (in 1972) was it would give my brother and I job opportunities when we got older. Charlotte is one of those places that if you are creative and want to be a business owner it is doable. Super Place!
Terrie: When you make it to Charlotte you better call me! You know if I'm ever in Reno I will be calling you!! I have never been to Nevada though.
Valerie: What I just wrote to Terrie goes for you too! You better call me when you get to Charlotte again! And I have never been to Connecticut either!
Cheryl: Thanks for coming by GIRL! I hope you are not an ICE CUBE!! It has been really windy and cold here today!
Teresa-
I was recently in Mathews, NC for a photography job and you are right Charlotte is GREAT!
Bryant: Thanks for stopping by! Charlotte is GREAT and Matthews is just around the corner!! Hope you had a wonderful trip...
