Good News for Greensboro, NC . . .

Mack Truck, Inc., the heavy-duty truck maker presently based in Allentown, PA is moving their headquarters to Greensboro, NC. The move is projected to take about three years. The move will allow Mack Trucks to join fellow Volvo Group subsidiary Volvo Trucks North America in Greensboro.

This move is projected to bring nearly 500 jobs and invest almost $18 million in North Carolina. In return North Carolina is providing a grant which includes $8.5 million in benefits if Mack creates its 493 promised jobs and sustains them for nine years.

Jobs will include information technology, parts logistics, and purchasing.

What a great addition to the Greensboro area and Guilford County and the possiblity of selling more houses!

Teresa.. This is wonderful news.  Why doesn't the media broadcast news like this?  I think people need to see news like this. This will have a domino factor for your area... Congrats.

Teresa, just stopped by to say howdy, saw that you signed into one of my favorite groups.  I look forward to learning more about your area of interests.  Great news on the trucking stuff.  I have a hubby that drives and it can be a pretty good life when one does it well.  Enjoy that upturn in your market! - cheryl (see ya in the rain)willis

Teresa,

That is great news for Greensboro. Of course, I'm sure the Allentown folks aren't to happy. :)

Valerie: Yes, it's great news for Greensboro and North Carolina in general. Yes, the news should pick-up on this and other good things but for the past year they don't want to report anything but doom and gloom! Take Care!
